I have a report I don’t understand
Paste the text of the report as it is, and we’ll pick out the terms we explain: what they mean in plain words, how doctors use them, what the phrase alone can’t tell you, and a question for your doctor.
Explaining a report is not a diagnosis. What a result means depends on your symptoms, your examination and the whole medical picture, and that is your doctor’s job.
What this does, and what it doesn’t
It does:
- Find the known terms in the text.
- Explain each one in plain language.
- Suggest a question for your doctor.
It doesn’t:
- Look at the images themselves.
- Decide whether a result is serious or minor.
- Know your symptoms or examination.
The list grows over time. If your report has a word we haven’t explained, send it to us: contact@thetract.org
